Murphy Door Chooses Lockdowel Fastening for Ease of Assembly

Murphy Door Gives Customers an Easy-to-Assemble, Beautiful, Secret Door with Lockdowel Glue-less/Tool-less, fast assembly fasteners — Available Now!

Murphy Door has announced they have chosen to build their secret bookshelf doors using Lockdowel fasteners to allow customers fast, yet strong assembly.

“We chose Lockdowel fasteners because they require no glue or tools, allowing assembly time for a full-sized, bookshelf, hidden door to be about two hours for the average person with no carpentry experience. This is 60% less assembly time than our old fastener technology,”  Murphy Door CEO Jeremy G. Barker said.

According to the company Lockdowel fasteners allowed Murphy Door to offer a new RTA (ready to assemble) product to Home Depot which met all their customers’ needs.  “We have now been added to Home Depot’s In-store, In-stock program at a national level,” Barker said.

Murphy Door creates doors that serve multiple purposes. Each design is fully functional, architecturally sound and operates smoothly as a door. The company creates ways for the door to serve as usable storage with shelving or hidden compartments. By taking advantage of doorway and wall space that is normally wasted, a Murphy Door can often add 16 to 42 cubic feet of storage to a home or office, the company states.

Murphy Door is known for creative door solutions. In 2014, Murphy Door was rated the #1 hottest celebrity gadget by Askmen.com and was a finalist of the hottest products of 2015 by the National Association of Home Builders. The Murphy Door is produced in Ogden, Utah, and has a distribution and sales center located in Lexington, Kentucky.
