BASF introduces 'Design MDF' BASF is introducing "Design MDF," its through-colored medium density fiberboard (MDF) technology used for creating an innovative look for composite wood products, to furniture and display makers in North America. Design MDF provides many creative possibilities for furniture, cabinetry, displays, and exhibit and store fixtures, the company says. Working with manufacturers of wood composites, BASF's experience in the areas of colorants and glues was used to develop unique pigment preparations that meet customer requirements to easily mix with glues, penetrate wood fibers and produce a quality appearance that lasts. BASF's pigment preparations can be used to create Design MDF in black, blue, green, red, gray, brown, orange and yellow. Custom colors are also available. HighRes-Root:203:09-2004:100280453.tif
