Finer surface particleboard

Particleboard by Boise Cascade Boise Cascade, Inc. credits what it calls a finer surface particleboard to a new forming process it installed last summer. This enhanced surface limits adhesive strike-in and reduces downgrading due to fiber swell. The finer-surface board currently comes in 5-foot-wide panels, but will be available in 4-foot widths later this year. These boards, which are made from a composite of Western pine species, come in three densities (41, 45, and 50 pounds).
