Spiral Cutterheads For the ultimate shaping experience, Grizzly Industrial offers five spiral cutterheads ranging in size from 2 to 5 7/8 in. high by 4-in. diameter. Mounted to a 1 1/4-in. shaper spindle, these cutterheads produce a smooth and tear-out-free finish on the most difficult grain patterns. Each cutterhead is comprised of individual indexable carbide inserts mounted along nine spirals. Because there is at least one insert engaged in the workpiece along every point of the cutterhead rotation, feed pressure is greatly reduced allowing for exceptional control and cutting performance. Each carbide insert can be independently rotated to reveal four fresh cutting edges before needing to be replaced, resulting in very little downtime and huge savings over conventional carbide cutters.
