For over 50 years, the flexible polyurethane industry has been totally dependent on the petroleum for its raw materials. On the heels of an unprecedented breakthrough, Hickory Springs recently introduced Preserve , a new foam that incorporates a sustainable, renewable resource as a key reactive ingredient. In Preserve, bio-based polyol replaces a significant portion of traditional oil-derived polyol, resulting in a conventional foam product that provides equal or greater comfort and performance for furniture and bedding use. Hickory Springs' development comes at a time of rising petroleum prices and concerns about raw material availability.
