Environ Biocomposites Mfg., LLC (Mankato, MN) is the only major manufacturer producing a wheat straw based, formaldehyde-free industrial panel. MICROSTRAND Wheat is a high-grade panel that meets or exceeds wood-based particleboard specifications. MICROSTRAND Wheat is formaldehyde-free, thus emitting no VOCs into the atmosphere. It is lighter in weight, yet as strong or stronger than wood particleboard and is made from rapidly renewable resources - wheat straw, supplied by Midwest farms. MICROSTAND Wheat is a "green" product that contributes to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points. It is available in 4 and 5 ft. widths, up to 10 ft. in length and thicknesses from 7/16 to 1 1/8 in.
