Richelieu Collection of Styles
Richelieu just unveiled a new decorative cabinet hardware Collection of Styles' to the U.S. that combines four centuries of the finest in European designs and traditions. It covers the Italian Renaissance through Art Deco and French Country period. The Collection of Styles offers a new perspective in art, science and architecture beginning in the Italian Renaissance period. The Regency style encompasses big asymmetrical flower arrangements and curvilinear shapes; the Louis 15 style conveys the overabundance of ornate, imaginative and extremely visual designs; and the Louis 16 style covers the influence of Greco-Roman art, beaded motifs, ribbon and reed, and Greek friezes which collectively provide just a glimpse of this time period. Additional styles feature the Roman symbols and geometrical motifs encountered during the Napoleonic period in France; the Empire style; and the intensive use of simple geometrical forms developed during the 1920s Cubist period which paved the way for the rich period of perfect proportions and elegant shapes of the Art Deco period. Lastly, the French Country style covers hand-made rustic products that offer a cozy feeling with eye-catching antique textures, antique and distressed materials.
