Amana Tool's insert spiral planer and jointer for shaper machines (part 61292) produces smooth cuts that practically eliminate the need for sanding. This 1 1/4-in. bore spiral planer/jointing cutter features a durable aluminum body with 12 spiral-positioned solid tungsten carbide insert knives, ensuring a knife is in constant contact with the stock's surface. This unique design eliminates the rippled, textured surface associated with wing-type shaper cutters. Instead of sharpening each knife, users simply rotate each four-sided knife a quarter turn, for a fresh edge every time. For pattern shaping, planing and routing curved work pieces with a template, use the Amana rub collar (part 61596), which is sold separately. T-bushings are available to reduce the bore size to fit different spindle sizes. This cutter is ideal for use in softwood, hardwood and man-made boards on a spindle shaper/molder.
