The chip cutting process is from the outer edge and is pulled toward the substrate. This allows the chip to lift and extract through the dust chute with efficiency leaving clean edging, according to the company. The cutter is a reversible carbide three knife head, adjustable up or down in 0.035mm increment steps and is 45mm wide. The platen has a special coating to prevent scratching as it rides on the guide surface.
