Flexible Materials Flexwood
A genuine wood veneer laminated to a variety of backings and processed into a flexible wood veneer sheet. It is designed to add real wood beauty to virtually any stable substrate. These substrates include, plastic, fiberglass, hardboard or particle board. Bonded under heat and pressure to the backing. This backer serves two functions; it acts as a carrier to hold the finished product together and allow flexibility. It also acts as a barrier which will prevent adhesives from penetrating to the surface, and to prevent finishing materials from penetrating to effect the adhesive bond. The application of Flexwood improves the appearance of a basic material by giving it warmth, color and texture. It does not interfere with the performance of that material. Products covered with Flexwood can be run in wood operations or even in some standard metal working operations. No special finishes are required with Flexwood as most standard finishes will work. For lamination, most adhesives will adhere to the backer used on Flexwood.
