Randy Lange, President of Lange Bros. Woodwork Co., Inc announced that the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) has awarded the company with the organization’s top recognition for excellence in woodwork with the AWI Standards of Excellence award. This prize is in addition to the AWI Award of Excellence earned earlier this year. AWI’s widely respected Award of Excellence Program distinguishes the finest custom architectural woodwork. Award winners have their distinctive projects published in Design Solutions, the quarterly journal of the Architectural Woodwork Institute. The AWI Standards of Excellence winners are chosen from projects published during the current year. This is Lange Bros. fourth AWI Award of Excellence and second AWI Standards of Excellence award. The presentation piece congratulates Lange “In recognition of superlative quality and exemplary execution of architectural woodwork as an element of contemporary architecture.”
The project was designed by Gensler. The Chicago architect, Al Fiesel was the designer. The contractor was J. H. Findorff & Son, Milwaukee. The woodwork enhances Reinhardt’s space on the 17tht floor of the Milwaukee office building located at 1000 South Water Street.
Randy Lange, who also served as the project manager for the custom Architectural Woodwork in Reinhardt’s space remarked, “Wisconsin has a long history of exceptional interior woodwork. The American Walnut, Carpatian Elm Burl and Austrian leather combined with the highest degree of craftsmanship possible created the perfect composition of professionalism, influence and respect. As Lange’s President, it is very satisfying to receive an award for our companies craftsmanship as we continue the tradition here in the city we have called home since 1932. The walnut is a strong and abundant midwest specie and is expressed in a confident yet, unpretentious way. The strength of the design resonates well with the strength of Reinharts position in the law community. As Lange’s President, it is very satisfying to receive an award for our companies craftsmanship as we continue the tradition together.”
