Grand Rapids, Mich. – Stiles Machinery donated more than 160 multifunctional book cases to Habitat for Humanity at the conclusion of the 2012 International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta.
“Stiles strives to be a conscientious, green-thinking company,” says Steve Waltman, vice president of marketing and communications. “We look for ways that we can be more resourceful and apply the green practices of reduce, reuse and recycle.”
Part of Stiles’ green-thinking approach is to reduce waste. “A lot of suppliers demonstrate their equipment at the fair, and then scrap the product at the end of the show,” Waltman explains. “By donating to Habitat for Humanity, we were able to eliminate waste and give back to the community.”
The book cases were received by Habitat for Humanity’s donation center in Atlanta. They will be put to immediate use in newly constructed homes in the area.
Roücke Pressing Technologies, Boise Cascade, Hettich, and Rehau partnered with Stiles in the creation of the Tetris book cases by donating material and hardware.
