Project certificates are now listed in the FSC certificate database. Projects listed are mainly housing projects of considerable size such as the renovation of 140 houses in the Netherlands or the redevelopment of a retail center in Central London. However, smaller-scale projects like the construction of a nature lodge in Malaysia and a fishing boat in Japan are also included.
Project certification is based on the FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard for Project Certification which provides a set of minimum requirements for sourcing FSC-certified material used in the project. The project manager must comply with the standard to claim the certificate. FSC project certification streamlines the certification of complex products by providing one project certificate rather than individual certificates for each project participant.
