Randy Lange, president and co-owner of Lange Bros. Woodwork Co., Inc announced recently that The Herrington Recovery Center in Summit, Wis. was selected by a juried panel of judges as the winner of the 2010 Wood Design Award in the category of “Use of wood in Green Building.” by WoodWorks.org. The project was designed by TWP Architecture, Elm Grove, Wis., and constructed by VJS Construction, Pewaukee, Wis.
This category recognizes the role wood plays in contributing to a buildings high performance by reducing energy use, overall environmental impact and making efficient use of resources in the design and use of the building. Only locally harvested woods were used on the project

The project also received recognition Sept. 22 at WGBA’s SE2 conference. Of the eight projects awarded by WoodWorks, Lange Bros. provided the custom woodwork for two of them; The Herrington Recovery Center in Summit, Wis. and Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, River Hills, Wis. by Phillip Katz Project Development.
